WE ARE HOLDING A TRAINING DAY FOR THOSE WHO ARE NEW TO RUNNING THEIR DOG IN WORKING TESTS.

OUR TRAINER IS LAURA JANE MARSH: A ‘B PANEL’ JUDGE; FIELD TRIAL SECRETARY OF COVENTRY & DISTRICT GUNDOG SOCIETY; AND EXPERIENCED COMPETITOR IN BOTH TESTS AND TRIALS.

THE EVENT WILL COVER ALL ASPECTS OF A WORKING TEST DAY, WITH TRAINING IN THE MORNING AND A MOCK TEST IN THE AFTERNOON.

WORKING TEST DEFINITIONS

Puppy: For any dog or bitch under eighteen months of age on the day of the test.

Novice Dog/Novice Handler: Neither dog nor handler to have won any award, including Certificate of Merit, at a Field Trial, or a first, second, third or Reserve in an Open or All-Aged Working Test, or first in ANY Working Test.

Novice: Any dog or bitch of any age not having won:

a. a Field Trial award, including a Certificate of Merit at a Field Trial.

b. a first, second, third or Reserve in an Open or ALL-ages Working Test.

c. a first in any previous Novice Working Test or any test above Novice level.

d. a first in a combined Puppy and Novice Test where separate awards for Puppies were NOT given. (A first in a Puppy Stake or a first in a Novice Dog/Novice Handler is discounted for this purpose).

Intermediate: Any dog or bitch of any age (in URC Tests, Intermediate is graded between Novice and Open), not having won: a. a first in any Intermediate, Open or All-Aged Working Test. b. a first, second or third in any Field Trial, EXCEPT for a Novice Dog/Novice Handler Field Trial where first only would be excluded.

Open: Open to all members of the URC. Preference in any draw will be given to dogs of members which have qualifications and which make them ineligible to run in any other category of Test. Preference in the draw will be given to host Area Members.

Veteran: Open to all dogs aged EIGHT YEARS or over on the day before the Test is run.

 

Any dog found to be suffering from an infectious disease or any bitch in season will be expelled from the ground. All competing dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, except when under a Judge's orders. Non-competing dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. They will be subject to any controls imposed by the Stewards or authorised person, including any Committee member.

 

DECLARATION

I/We agree to submit to and be bound by the Kennel Club Ltd Rules and Regulations in their present form or as they may be amended from time to time in relation to all canine matters with which the Kennel Club Ltd is concerned and that this entry is made upon the basis that all current single or joint registered owners of this dog(s) have authorised/consented to this entry.
I/We also undertake to abide by the Regulations of this Trial and not to bring to the Trial any dog which has contracted or been knowingly exposed to any infectious disease during the 21 days prior to the day of the Trial, or which is suffering from a visible condition which adversely affects its health or welfare.
I further declare that I believe to the best of my knowledge that the dogs are not liable to disqualification under Kennel Club Ltd Rules and Regulations.*
I also declare that I am fully conversant with the Field Trial Regulations and have studied the Guide to the Conduct of Field Trials.

* Note Dogs entered in breach of Kennel Club Ltd Rules and Regulations are liable to disqualification whether or not the owner was aware of the breach.
