Open Walked Up Working Test at Kettleby on Sunday September 14th 2025

We were able to use a sizeable sugar beet field, stubble and a wood by very kind permission of Mr R and Mr M Gladwin. We began in warm sunshine, continued into cold breeze but finished just before the heavens opened ready for a rain-soaked journey home.

Thanks go to our sponsors, Skinners Dog Food. We thank our judges, Sue Hales-Lowe and Juie Campbell and Chief Steward Casper Jonsen.  They did a great job putting 26 dogs through their paces.

The first round was two straightish marks in front into the sugar beet.  In the second round, the retrieves were marks or blinds, either to the left or right along the line or behind.

After the second round, the judges cut to 7 dogs for two drives on the stubble, some distance away to the left and right.  The dogs then took it in turns to retrieve a dummy from each drive and a blind just inside the wood.
