An open walked up test in sugarbeet on field trial lines, at Edwinstowe, by kind invitation of Mr & Mrs Bealby.
The first round consisted of marks in front, and the second round were crossing front marks. All dogs picked in both rounds and everyone was taken through to a third round of memory marks and blinds. The judges then cut the field to the top 5 dogs who were taken to a mock drive with blind retrieves, where they found their result.
We were blessed with fine weather, occasionally cloudy with a blustery drying breeze throughout. The best dog/handler partnerships were the ones who used the breeze to find the dummies to best effect.
